Sewing Classes for June 2026

This month our classes are
 
Quick Sew:
July classes start on Wednesday at 6-8pm.  8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th
If you are interested in learning to sew some quick projects and learn how to use a sewing machine or wanting to “dust the cobwebs” off your sewing skills then this class is for you. We run it monthly, every Wednesday night 6-8pm for 4 weeks. Please email us to secure your spot or ring the shop. A 25% deposit is required to book your spot. The total cost is $200 and this covers the fabric and sewing supplies needed.
 
 
Patchwork and Quilting 101
Come and learn the basics of patchworking and quilting while making yourself a placemat. We will use the quilt as you go method to create a placemat, utilizing the ¼” seam, learn about effective pressing and how to stitch in the ditch and other straight line quilting methods you can do on your machine. We will then bind using the traditional method. You will learn all you need to get started into the wonderful world of quilting.
When: Saturdays 10-2pm.
Cost: $50.00 This includes all materials.

NEW CLASS     Sew your ‘robe. – A line skirt.
Always wanted to sew your own clothes but didn’t know where to start? This class is the perfect next step for those of you who now know your way around a sewing machine.  In this relaxed workshop you’ll learn how to make a simple, A-line skirt – no previous garment sewing experience needed.
 
You’ll learn:
-How to read and use a simple sewing pattern
-Measure and choose the right size
-choose, wash and cut fabric with confidence
-Sew straight seams and create an elastic waistband
-Finish your garment neatly.
 
What’s included:
-Step by step guidance in a small group setting
-Use of sewing machine and tools if needed.
 
As this is a first dressmaking venture we ask that you ring in and book a fitting and info session where we can tell you about suitable fabric, measure the correct size for you and discuss preparation of fabric.
 
Who is this class for:
-Graduates of our Quick Sew classes
-confident beginners ready to try their first garment
-anyone wanting to start making their own clothes and know how to use a sewing machine.
 
When: Tuesday nights, 6-8pm  July Tuesdays Tuesday July 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th  
Cost:  $130. Fifty dollar deposit will secure your spot. Ring the shop 07 839 4663.
